Thane ~ Unstoppable

I'd love you to meet some more of the amazing, brave kiddos that I've been honored to photograph for Avera Children's. They are each so special and they truly touch my heart. I am so blessed to photograph these inspirational children and their families to help tell their brave stories.
While rooting for his favorite football team, Thane thought he was getting a simple sore throat.  His condition quickly went from bad to worse.  He was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit at Avera Children's Hospital due to his reaction to an antibiotic.  He would later be diagnosed with pneumonia.  After touch-and-go treatments, his health slowly began to return to normal.  Today, Thane is back to playing despite being diagnosed with Steven Johnson Syndrome.  But he doesn't let his health get in the way of living life to the fullest.  Although his parents still recount the fear they experienced during his health scare, they are confident in his care plan and are appreciative of the support they received during their stay.
